Located in Sao Paulo, in the hectic city centre surrounded by corporate buildings, this project was designed for a young couple who intended to have a big house that sparks cosiness of just an apartment.
The most special feature of this project is the way that the internal spaces can be connected with the outside environment through sliding doors : the big varanda becomes a living room, surrounded by a tropical garden, doubling its size.
The external kitchen, covered with a glass and concrete pergola is the favourite space for family and friends to gather. In the scope of the interior design of this project, we experimented to create a domestic version of a concept "from farm to table" : a big table made with demolition wood where a big vase with herbs and spices supports one of its extremities.
The original concrete ceiling was shaped in a way as to emphasize the white walls as a volume in the living room. This volume hosts a cloak room, right in the entrance and a wood bench that runs along most of the living room walls, sometimes serving as a bench, sometimes as a support for the TV rack or record´s boxes.
The master bedroom was also integrated with another varanda, hosting a reading lounge, work station and makeup table. The master bathroom also connects to the varanda by a sliding glass window through the bathtub.
The furniture is partly designed by our studio (side tables, sofas) and partly sourced in European vintage shops.
