The plot is located at the end of a service road, below it. To the east, a mountain stream and to the west and south, the developing residential area. The construction of the road created an embankment overlooking a flat area. Its height equals one and a half levels. Quite organically, the program is organized in half levels to “rest” on the flat. The volume is a parallelepiped, hollowed out to the north-east to create the entrance and the garage, with a terrace to the south-west.

The terrace is in direct connection with the kitchen and the living room. The main part of the program is oriented to the south, to make the most of the view and scenery on the left bank of the Rhône. The study, located at the lowest point, benefits from a relationship with the topography and the lower terrace. The dark zigzag shaped metal cladding blends in with the edge of nature along the torrent, and the pattern of openings reminds the layout in split levels. All the exterior joinery and ironwork are tinted in the same colour as the facades. The discreet volume from the road asserts itself to the south to make the most of the view and to capture maximum sunlight.
