PadiglioneB Studio di Architettura 建築家 として

The work we propose concerns a residential unit located on the first floor inside a historic and listed building in the ancient center of Verona. The context is characterized by the original characteristics of the seventeenth century building itself, such as the structure equipped with decorated wooden beams, the terracotta flooring preserved and partly taken up with the same hand-worked format, the large tuff portal inside only emphasizes the context in which we operated.

PadiglioneB has thus concentrated its study inside, creating spaces for today's functions and taking care not to appear obvious or banal. The few square meters available made us rethink the concept of the kitchen, removing the dining table and extending the function of the kitchen top as a real table through the use of dedicated stools. The overall result is an environment that communicates and dialogues with the living room in a continuous way. The space created for the living area has allowed us to recreate a true relaxation corner, dominated by the light and the external context of the garden which dominates the internal courtyard.

Of particular impact is the use of natural materials emphasized in this case by the Fior di Pesco marble by Margraf, used for the vertical cladding and the worktop dedicated to the kitchen, almost to box it in. The Fior di Pesco, cut at 45 degrees, with continuous grain, represents a real design without interruptions between the planes that change their direction.

The cantilevered support is supported by extra-clear glass which tends to disappear, making the marble itself airy and light. Despite its small dimensions, the room environment has been enriched by a wooden wall which, thanks to its lightness, discreetly separates the walk-in closet from the bed. The wooden structure acts as a headboard and divider, allowing light to enter the room, filtering it in a soft way. Every wooden detail has been designed and created.

The choice of wood fell on birch treated in a natural form, having an aesthetic and chromatic impact that is closest to natural wood. The same essence was then also used for the bathroom furnishings, which was also the subject of internal design. Every architectural element of the bathroom was made of birch. The handles are in leather to emphasize the use and use of natural materials.

The shelves that "rotate" around the mirror are made from solid wood, to emphasize the overall value of the materials used. The small bathroom was thus exploited down to the last centimetre. The floor present is always the same terracotta, which is completed with the coating resin. The color chosen in this case is sage green which matches in an almost "natural" way with the red of the terracotta.

The care in the design also fell into the choice of internal lighting with technical and at the same time decorative products by Davide Groppi such as the Infinito designed to illuminate the room and the precious ceiling.

The adjustable spotlights placed in the kitchen, also by Groppi, are extremely comfortable and functional, just as the sofa area is enriched by a Sanpei (floor lamp) to be able to have a light dedicated only to the living area.

They complete Bugia by Davide Groppi as a bedside lamp and the Q cube as a diffused overall light for the bedroom. The bathroom light is managed by technical products from Wever and Ducre.

The overall value that is perceived is a warm environment, whose brightness is expressed by all the light bodies with the same color gradation, all details which, added to the value of the project, make the housing unit welcoming and warm.
