Located in the city of Guadalajara on the ground level of a structure with environmental artistic value, based on the neighborhood in which it is located, the Prana project comes from the dichotomy of the program between a retail store of agroecological products and the restaurant where the food is prepared and served using such agroecological products.
Both areas are interconnected through a pair of openings that reveal the adjacent space, while allowing the independent operation of both the retail and hospitality sections. Restaurant and store connect to the pedestrian outside the building through wooden showcases that function as product displays while reducing the south-west sunlight inside the premises.
The materiality of the interiors and furniture design are inspired by the natural elements present in the farms of the brand's food producers: earth, volcanic stone, wood and abundant vegetation. The floor, the bar and the carpentry were all designed for the project and sourced by local craftsmen and carpenters.
On the exterior, the asphalt sidewalk was intervened with hammered concrete pots and planters, once again evoking the stone texture of the landscapes atthe producer farms. The proposed vegetation included local species with thick foliage to provide freshness and shade to the urban context.
