The key challenges for this project lied in adapting the existing fabric with the contemporary addition towards the rear. Influenced by the Arts and Crafts Movement, the original design is an exemplar of Bungalow architecture which was highly popularised during the early 20th Century. Richly appointed, our client’s condo on Nicollet Island presented the opportunity to create an atmosphere, spaces to display their art collection and a highly detailed primary suite.  JMAD JMAD JMAD JMAD Architect James McNeal started with the stair railing that connects the upper floor to the suite. The suite was tight on space, so we wanted to use details that would open up the space without eliminating any. Since the tub takes up so much space, we decided to make the tub an art and water feature - with a hand-carved dragon serving at the helm. Artist, interior designer, and ardor—studio founder Michiel Hilbrink designed a 60sqm/645sqft home for his family of three in Amsterdam’s east end. The peaceable, minimalist, and timeless space is a study in achieving comfort without clutter.   The top-floor apartment with tall, pitched ceilings offers a comfortable lifestyle for its small size. A generous bathroom followed by a nursery greets you upon entry, giving shape to a corridor that opens into a sizable, blended living-dining-kitchen area; a staircase at the far end winds up to a modest mezzanine bedroom. The transformation of this Mount Martha residence has elevated it from dated to delightful. Drawing inspiration from the coastal colours and textures of the Mornington Peninsula, we sprinkled our magic over every inch of the house with new materials, textured furnishings, a new kitchen and bathrooms to create a light, warm and layered contemporary home. The clients engaged our Studio to rejuvenate and modernise their house. The project entails a significant expansion of an existing 'King-Cottage' style home, elegantly adapting it to meet the needs of the family. Fluidity of interior spaces towards the exterior The owners aimed to enlarge their home while maximizing their outdoor space usage throughout the year. The project, as designed, creates a seamless and natural transition between the interior and exterior. To achieve this, the architects initially incorporated an exposed wooden structure that stretches into a covered outdoor space. The main living area is generously extended, providing the opportunity to enjoy the backyard even on rainy days. For our clients in Sint-Lievens-Houtem, we unleashed our creativity on their newly purchased home. This core was given a black wooden finish, giving it the appearance of a custom-made cabinetry on all sides. In the early fall of 2022, the team of Bezmirno architectural studio completed work on the design project implementation for the apartment in the Tetris Hall residential complex in Kyiv. The concept hotel "Mutis" located in Indonesia. This project represents our search for combinations of different stylistic directions. We experimented a lot with geometric shapes, materials and furniture.
