Jarillas Eco Sign

Casa de Cultura las Jarillas is a community center in Iztacalco, Mexico City that promotes cultural proliferation through, workshops, theater, arts, and urban farming.  To create a more visible presence within the neighborhood a sign was needed to help steer people towards the community center.  This signage had to be easy to install, preferably integrated with local plants, and be seen from across the street where a bus station is located.  After some studies and research a material was found that could be easily modified and required little maintenance.  Coroplast is a white plastic material that is lightweight and can be combined into large pieces to create a visual impact for those who are walking by and driving in v... もっと見る

De Walvis

Built in the 1960s as part of a controversial urbanization project that faced community resistance, De Walvis (Dutch for "the whale") was designed by W.F. Lugthart and initially seen as a disruptive addition to Amsterdam’s Bickerseiland. Decades later, KAAN Architecten has reimagined the building, stripping it down to its essence and reshaping it into a sleek, sculptural landmark. Sebastian van Damme Drawing inspiration from Donald Judd, the architects introduced strong horizontal lines that optically separate the floors while maintaining interior flexibility for future spatial connections. The extended floors, clad in dark, lightweight metal, create a striking floating effect, further enhanced by recessed triple glazing with ne... もっと見る

IDEAL-Trade Service Brno

From outside... The gray envelope of the facade panels in the street, where there are mainly companies and car showrooms, fits in with the others. At first glance, however, it differs by its dark framed horizontal windows, which thus refer to the most famous, functionalist period of the city of Brno. With a little imagination, you can see the outlines of the famous Villa Savoy, an icon of the period. And thanks to these wide strip windows, there is enough light inside for all the offices in the administrative part of the building. The two-storey administrative building itself is supplemented to the rear by a production, development, and storage facility. An important element of the exterior, which is not visible from the street, at first... もっと見る

Anaha Residential Tower Landscape

Anaha — “reflection of light” in the Hawaiian language — was designed to capture and reflect the light of the Pacific Ocean as well as the dramatic and ever-changing sky in Honolulu. Set within the Ward Village development, this multi-family residential project is informed by native Hawaiian plants and traditions, paying homage to the natural beauty and history of Honolulu. Anaha is oriented with its long axis perpendicular to the shoreline to preserve sight lines from mauka (mountains in Hawaiian) to makai (sea). At the ground floor, subtle differences in stone finish — from bush-hammered to honed Cremino stone paving — reveal a wave pattern. This paving is mirrored and repeated across the multiple leve... もっと見る

Chiseled Hair Melbourne

Chiseled is the latest project by OLSK, designed in collaboration with Elvin Tan Design. The new space brings together four individual hair professionals into one salon environment. The brief we developed was about defining this new brand through the architecture and interiors. The name – Chiseled – came from the group and formed the starting point for concept development. We thought about the process of hair cutting and styling, which formed the main design theory which is based on layers, texture and colour. Driven by the concept of layers, textures and colour, the materiality plays an important role at Chiseled. Materials have been layered in different sections of the hair salon. We layered the material selection in section... もっと見る

BNP Paribas

Provencher_Roy, in collaboration with the lighting firm LumiGroup, is proud to announce the completion of interior design and lighting for the new offices of French bank BNP Paribas.   Located on seven floors of a downtown Montreal office tower, the primary goal for the “campus” was to reflect the company’s new approach to its work, based on open spaces. The architectural design also had to meet WELL certification standards, aimed at promoting the health and wellbeing of building occupants. Alternating between work, collaboration and relaxation zones, open spaces and closed ones, and deftly combining the functional and the playful, the project is a clear success.   A new approach to work “The core of o... もっと見る
