SPPARC completes restoration of former Victorian-era Army & Navy Cooperative Society warehouse

In the heart of Westminster, London, the London-based architectural studio SPPARC has restored and revived Greycoat Stores, a building of historic importance. The structure, a former Victorian-era warehouse for the Army & Navy Cooperative Society Ltd, had fallen into a state of disrepair and obscurity. The newly refurbished 90,000-square-foot (8,361-square-meter) building has been reimagined as a mixed-use development. SPPARC has revived the heritage building’s original Victorian charm, most notably reintroducing its previously lost red brick facade. Tree Courtyard House by ao–ft brings contemporary flair to small backland site

In Walthamstow, East London, a single-story new-build home brings contemporary flair to a small backland site. Designed by London-based architecture practice ao–ft, “Tree Courtyard House” is constructed from brick and cross-laminated timber (CLT). “Minty House” is the result of a colorful and quirky architectural intervention on a Victorian home in London’s West Hampstead. dMFK Architects gives Grade II* Listed Arts and Crafts factory building new lease of life

London-based dMFK Architects has restored and repurposed a former wallpaper factory in Chiswick, west London. Designed by C. F. A. Voysey, an English architect and proponent of the Arts & Crafts movement, the 1902 building has been given a new lease of life. Cairn pioneers use of new low-carbon blended cement in “house made by many hands”

Cairn is an architectural studio based between Edinburgh and London that specializes in creating low-carbon buildings. In its latest project — the renovation and extension of a Victorian terrace in Hackney, east London — Cairn has pioneered the use of a new low-carbon blended cement. “House made by many hands” is the first building in the UK to use Limestone Calcined Clay Cement: LC3. Knox Bhavan reimagines challenging London brownfield site as contemporary low-carbon home

London-based architectural practice Knox Bhavan designed Threefold House, a new residential property in Teddington, south-west London. The low-carbon house is constructed on a brownfield site in a built-up area that was previously occupied by a disused warehouse. The contemporary home includes three courtyards and sits on a challenging 450-square-meter (4,844-square-feet) triangular plot, surrounded by other properties and a small car park. Lofty timber canopy welcomes commuters at new Brent Cross West station

The eastern entrance of newly opened Brent Cross West station in North London is an impressive timber-hybrid structure that combines sustainability and biophilia. “The Arbour” is a gateway to Brent Cross Town, a large-scale urban regeneration project that aims to be net zero by 2030. Terzetto by ConForm emphasizes materiality and craftsmanship

London-based architecture practice ConForm has created a contemporary haven filled with texture in London’s West Hampstead.
