What would be the way to expand a historic city quarter with contemporary buildings avoiding disharmonious results? It was the core concern of the architects when designing the new information centers in the Buda Castle District in Budapest. The recently finished Visitor Center and Infopoint kiosks are using contemporary solutions to reflect on their surroundings - figuratively and literally.\

Mirror-like glass exterior of prefabricated Lucia Smart concept blends powerfully into the landscape
With a mirror-like glass exterior that blends powerfully into the landscape, Lucia Smart is a prefabricated glass and steel space unit that can be used as a workspace or living accommodation.

Designed for Finnish glass construction company Savon Lasituote Oy, Lucia Smart is delivered directly to the site where it is placed on foundations built to manufacturer specifications and connected to the required infrastructure.

The triangular steel structure is oriented to optimize viewpoints from inside the unit and allow expansive views to the exterior with minimal obstruction. Lighting is also integrated into the steel beam structure.

De Zalmhaven toren
The Zalmhaven is the new eye-catcher on the Rotterdam skyline. With 215 meters, this will be the highest residential tower in the Benelux. Two flanking towers (by KAAN Architecten) form a visual staircase to the lower Scheepvaartkwartier.
For this ambitious project, much attention has been paid to the relationship with the environment and the liveliness at ground level. On the urban scale, the high tower acts as a connecting element between the Scheepvaartkwartier and the Kop van Zuid, between the north and south side of the city. In this way, the focus of the city is shifted towards the water.
