NW 60

An interior and exterior design for a villa in Berkel-Enschot Sun terrace The sun terrace and garden as an extension to the living room, is that possible? Yes, it is! Image Courtesy B-too Without a doubt successful for this magnificent villa: a sun terrace across the full width of the house, neatly cropped against the lawn, giving an indisputable “outside is in and inside is out” feeling. Image Courtesy B-too Thatched roof This relatively old-fashioned type of roof is (fortunately) making a comeback. It doesn’t just lend the home something extra, it is a firm nod to a healthier living environment. Good choice! DU Office Flachgasse – Apartments

The former factory of metal objects Grünwald, built in 1907, was first transformed into a designer furniture store by Matthäus Jiszda in 1981. The building was once again restructured to house the offices of the Viennese branch of Dietrich | Untertrifaller. It has also been enhanced by two floors to offer a penthouse and two spacious apartments. Bruno Klomfar Bruno Klomfar The alignment recess is due to the load distribution of the cross-laminated beam-to-wall structure. The plan of the apartments adapts to these structural constraints and takes advantage of them: the supports on the central supporting wall and on the existing dividing walls allow clearing free levels as well as large windows on all the west facade of t... もっと見る

House D in Dornbirn

Stüben, a steep mountain plot above Dornbirn, offers views over the Vorarlberg Rhine Valley, the alpine landscape from the First to the Swiss mountains and in the northwest over Lake Constance. The house captures the panorama with its largely glazed living area on the top floor, and in its formal language, it creates references to the architecture of traditional farmhouses. Bruno Klomfar Bruno Klomfar The found topography largely determines the concept of the house. A narrow path leads between old pear trees to the entrance on the lower level. The basement and the sleeping floor above disappear mostly in the terrain. The two stories are solidly constructed and show themselves as exposed concrete plinth. The distinctive canti... もっと見る

COOKFOX Studio

Nestled among the skyscrapers of “billionaire’s row” are the historic jewels of Midtown Manhattan’s rise into the sky, the fashionable towers built by companies like Goodrich and General Motors, in muscular iterations of gothic revival, Viennese Secessionism and Art Deco styles. Designed by Carèrre& Hastings for the Fisk Tire company in 1920, the Fisk building’s 26 floors taper back in a series of terraces. COOKFOX chose the 17th floor to explore the next generation of workplace, a studio designed to join three planted terraces in an expression of our mission to connect people to nature within the built environment. Entry is defined by a crisply demarcated gallery hall, its expanse of exhibition walls and rhythm of concrete beams establ... もっと見る

Restaurant kalaki

Restaurant Kalaki is the first Michelin rated fine dining restaurant operating in Tbilisi, Georgia.Located in one of the oldest neighborhood in Tbilisi with diverse architectural styles and historical layers superimposing over 150 years of history, the architecture of the project was carefully considered and detailed for the contextual setting, yet with a quest to create a classical and sophisticated environment within the texture of old town. The fundamental design concept of the project surpasses the typical designation of a luxurious restaurant and its main function, rather offers an unparralleled settings and meeting space where people experience and socialize in a magical atmosphere, which takes them away from city reality. Wilkins Terrace

Despite the scale of UCL’s estate, the University lacked good quality collegiate external space. Through their masterplan, an opportunity was identified to create a new courtyard terrace above an existing service yard to the rear of the Wilkins Building, UCL’s original home, to provide a new high quality piece of public realm for both staff and students. We developed the idea of enclosing the services yard as an undercroft, allowing the external space above to become the new amenity for a variety of uses. This is conceived as a contemporary, high quality, stone landscaped terrace set within the historic courtyard. As well as being split level with a new lift and grand staircase, this also creates new routes across the campus, bringing activi... もっと見る

Shearwaters

Shearwaters is a replacement dwelling in the Pembrokeshire Town of Tenby. It is located on the southern side of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The site is located at a cliff top boasting panoramic views from Tenby to the west and the Bristol channel to the south. The brief was to create a contemporary 5-bedroom dwelling that was unique but complementing of the typical pitched roof vernacular of the area. The design developed out of a series of detailed studies into the local roof forms, pitches and relationships between geometries. The plan spreads east and west to the boundaries of the long and narrow site to maximise the size of the front and rear gardens. A ground floor form containing the dining and living spaces reaches out to th... もっと見る

Vertical House

Located on one of the few lots in Dallas elevated enough to enjoy a view of the downtown skyline, the five-story Vertical House rises dramatically above the treetops to capture views of the surrounding gardens and the skyline beyond. Characterized by clean lines, sheer glass walls, and sculptural sun shades, this sharply-detailed house offers an intriguing counterpoint to the tropical ambiance of its forest-like setting. The client, an avid collector of exotic plants, wanted a house that would not only maximize views of the site, but also maintain privacy from neighboring properties. In response, the house was conceived as two interlocking, contrasting volumes: one half is transparent and oriented toward views of the... もっと見る
