The most significant structural element of the design is the roof truss shape, which allows in eastern light through skylights while still allowing for the appearance of a continuous roof mass from the garden side.

One storey only, the long and linear floor plan is inspired by the three-part Slovak house where the central space becomes the so-call ‘pivitor’ – a front hall of the house oriented to the garden with flowing indoor to outdoor connections. The traditional grey masonry used for the interior spaces lends a traditional character and expression while being thoroughly modern as a living concept.
