A series of thirty minutes long masterclasses on YouTube will deal with the most pressing and compelling topics that contemporary cities have to deal with.
After the introductory masterclass, given by Foundation president Norman Foster, experts from architecture, education, government and business will give their insights into the future of cities and the crisis that they will have to overcome.
“The City is probably the oldest most enduring invention of our civilization. The words are interchangeable, civilization, civil, civic, city. Cities evolve over time. They respond to crises. And historically they emerge from crisis, stronger then ever before. So what are the future trends for cities? And what are the lessons of history?``
Norman Foster, President of the Norman Foster Foundation
Notable contributions will come from Sou Fujimoto, Francis Kéré, Richard Burdett (Director, LSE Cities), Fonna Forman ( Principal, Estudio Teddy Cruz + Fonna Forman), Belinda Tato (Cofounder and Codirector, Ecosistema Urbano) and Kent Larson (Director, MIT City Science Research Group).
