Magdalena Keck is an established New York City-based interior designer known for a conceptual, minimalist approach, rooted in her keen awareness of light, composition, and materials. The essential nature of her work lets the materiality of the spaces breathe, allowing the volumes and textures to replace ornament. Her aesthetic is characterized by the influence of balance present in nature. Keck’s work is further distinguished by her refined ability to curate fine art that is informed by her academic training as an artist, her unique instinct, and grounded in the individuality of each client. Her design work evokes emotions reaching to memories and aspirations. She founded her firm Magdalena Keck Interior Design in 2003 and designed dozens of residential, retail, and corporate environments in New York City and Miami. Her residential work is the subject of a book published in 2017 by Glitterati titled Pied-à-Terre: Magdalena Keck written by a professor of contemporary architecture Tiziana Proietti with a foreword by Dezeen design editor Dan Haworth. She serves as a founding member for Brick & Wonder, a community of real estate and design professionals. Keck grew up in Poland and moved to New York City in 1993 where she received her BFA in interior design from the Fashion Institute of Technology. She travels extensively and has visited 28 countries on four continents. She currently resides with her husband in Manhattan’s East Village and works out of her design studio in Chelsea.
