For busy Israel-based technology company Artlist, designers Switchup created an office concept that prioritizes work, efficiency, and collaboration while still celebrating creativity. Borrowing from concepts of Scandinavian minimalism, the office is a clean, distraction-free work environment.
All working spaces in Artlist’s office environment are open and airy. The open-air workspace features desks both below and on the upper level, with clean minimal lines in between, to create the sense of working together even when employees are on different floors.
While providing a primarily work-focused environment, the design concept throughout provides nooks for employees to unwind. In particular, an upper-level lounge features warm beige painted wood beams with natural wood flooring for a zen-like feeling.
Further to this, a kitchen and break areas offer cafeteria-style seating amongst plentiful green foliage. Breaking down the scale of the high ceilings to give a sense of cosiness are double fridges, a hightop island/bar and low slung lights. Overall, clean warm beiges and natural wood tones are used and contrasted with a rustic painted brick wall. A stage adjacent to the kitchen is set up for open mics, lunchtime jam sessions, or party concerts.
Finally, presentation areas are designed to be open and modular, natural in tone, and above all designed to afford collaboration as a key design principle.
