A house is a meeting of dreams and desires of the inhabitants. The architect must exceed the expectation to really contribute something, and not be a simple answerer of the suggestions. Not to be a simple cartoonist who then puts an order and aesthetics to ideas. The land, of good proportions and generous, to be within a residential development, had a rather irregular profile in its surroundings.
With views from its interior very varied and very contrasting. For this it was decided to work with Un Patio. A high courtyard, which corrected the profiles and diversities of the surroundings and generated its own inner world. The house turns and opens onto a courtyard that contains several scales. This patio receives the visuals of the social area as well as the private area. The Great Patio is a public and private space at the same time, flowing from the social area through a double-height terrace, in the manner of the old houses, making this space cool, generating a positive microclimate, taking the lighting of the east and the prevailing winds.
The private area, seeking the uniform lighting of the north, opens to the Patio completely in front, without transition. A series of virtual elements are organizing the reading of the Patio. Flanking the large double-height living room, on the one hand, along with the social and executive kitchen at the same time, and services, and on the other hand the block of the bedrooms with the master bedroom as a top and framed in the series of visual and quantum transitions of the Great Patio. The Patio assembles everything, everything is white and directs its visuals towards its contents and towards the sky, achieving a unitary reading of the environment and articulating itself as a single language of set. The approach generates a strong exterior-interior relationship, getting the house to manage a continuous and dominated opening, directing the visuals and activities towards the space produced.
