The expansion project for the Division of Health Sciences continues that same principle of correctly oriented linear buildings where it seeks to catch the uniform light of the north and cut and protect from the sunlight of the south.
The new building is developed on three levels. The scheme arises by differentiating the activities of the architectural program. On the one hand, the classrooms, aligned and grouped, and on the other, the support and complement services.
Eight classrooms per level, 24 in total, are integrated by circulations, both horizontal and vertical and at the ends of these are located health services. Each classroom accommodates 36 students.
This same horizontal circulation links the supporting "building" with the classrooms. The main staircase articulates both volumes and defines the space that connects not only both parts, but marks and leads to the existing building.
In the "building" of complementary spaces is located, on the ground floor, the cafeteria and services for students such as work cubicles, both group and individual, thesis consultancies and recreation-rest space.
On the first level are the administrative offices with the directors of areas, coordinators, teachers' lounge and general management.
On the last level are located the laboratories and the Simulation Center, with a core of services and coordination for all laboratories.
