Sports facility Heijplaat, Rotterdam

The indoor sports facility is part of the new green residential area 'Het Verborgen Geheim,' nestled between the robust Heysehaven and the Eemhavenweg. The garden village of Heijplaat, a nationally protected cityscape, was developed in the 1910s by the director of the Rotterdam Droogdok Maatschappij (RDM). It was purposefully built for RDM workers to live close to their workplace, avoiding the then-long commute from Rotterdam. Heijplaat lies to the south of the Nieuwe Maas, with Eemhaven to the west and Waalhaven to the east. Marcel van der Burg Adding value to the neighborhoodHeijplaat is undergoing an impressive phase of transition. After the shipyard's closure, efforts have been made since 2004 to revitalize the area. Sports Hall La Minais by Bohuon Bertic Architectes presents an ambitious sports hall programme within a calm and curving geometry

Sainte-Luce-sur-Loire, France: Sports Hall La Minais by Bohuon Bertic Architectes presents an ambitious sports hall programme within a calm and curving geometry. Organized in a stepped ring around a high volume multi-sports area, sinuous geometries and subtle integration into the landscape soften the relationship between building and environment.  Juan Cardona The construction system comprises a ground floor level of concrete walls and floors while the emerging volume of the multi-sports area is constructed in a metal frame with beams spanning 40 meters. A triple-skin facade with external insulation provides a uniform envelope. This envelope is then clad with perforated and opaque standing seam sheets with variable horizontal lin... Meer

Hans-und-Hilde-Coppi-Gymnasium Sports Hall

The sports hall complements the historic and protected ensemble of the Hans-und-Hilde-Coppi-Gymnasium while also creating new qualities through independent architecture. The key design element is defined by a visible three-part, barrel-shaped roof structure, whose special typological shape is reflected in the interior and exterior.   The new sports hall fits into the overarching structure of the Hans-und-Hilde-Coppi-Gymnasium and creates new qualities through its independent architecture, without neglecting heritage-preservation concerns. The intersection of the sports hall and the adjoining wing incorporates the principle of negative corners in the block structure, while creating a spacious, enclosed outside space for breaks.  ... New Sports + Learning Building

Situated in a central Cambridge conservation area, the building carefully addresses the scale and character of the surrounding urban fabric whilst providing a dynamic new focus for the school. A crisply detailed brick plinth wraps around the building, visually supporting a bronze-clad suite of learning spaces. It is this material richness which greatly adds to the impact of the buildingPROJECT DETAILSThe new building sits between, and connects to, two existing school buildings, improving access t... Meer

Sports Hall in Kuřim

White and Blacklike the colours of Kuřim,like counterparts that complement each other, like a ball, like a game...The sports hall is another piece in the mosaic of a gradually expanding sports complex in Kuřim. Since the sports arena is approximately in the centre of this promising area, the architects strove to design a building whose look reflects its purpose: it is a playful and eye-catching building that will become the symbol of the entire complex. Our design was selected after winning an international architectural competition in 2009.In terms of its volume, the arena is designed as a compact castellated ice floe, showing on the outside what happens inside. White and black surfaces are divided by the facade's edges. The shape and the co... Meer
