The Creative Team of Design Centrum Kielce, Poland presents a new collection “Artetura” at Ventura Lambrate, Milan 2012.
The project is a collaboration between the Design Centrum Kielce and ceramic industry Cersanit SA, a member of Rovese group, producers of sanitary ceramics and tiles. The project’s aim is to create a new line of products, using existing ceramic tiles from industrial production. Flat ceramic tiles usually serve as elements for architectural exteriors, interiors, and floors. By designing 3 dimensional objects, the project offers a wider utilization of the product line and diversifies the potential of the industry.
To create the designs fired and glazed tiles were used, which were precisely cut with water jet and refinished by sanding. These altered tiles became the raw material for the construction of large geometric vessels and shallow table containers. Large areas of bright color become the central value for the objects, sending a strong emotional signal through simple geometric forms.
“Artetura” is a synthesis of art and architecture in ceramic product, designed to serve therapeutic process and providing esthetic experience through physical and emotional design
