Where texture and technique meet, singular fabrics arise. After the successful Slumber poufs and plaids, Casalis decided to renew its collaboration with Aleksandra Gaca. The Polish designer developed Cello, a 3D textile, a superbly woven fabric that not only offers good acoustic absorption but is aesthetically pleasing as well. An artful combination of matte and gloss, hard and soft. This fabric can be used for sound proof panelling hung on walls. There is the flexibility to cover whole rooms or just the side of an object.
Architextiles is series of sound absorbing textiles with a woven 3D structure. Designed by Aleksandra Gaca and manufactured by Casalis, the Architextiles collection was developed through an innovative combination of both craft and high tech elements, in a seamless process to create the panels. The textile panels, produced using sustainable materials, deliver two core features: decoration and noise reduction; the 3D texture of the woven fabric enables the panels to absorb sound waves more efficiently than flat textiles. Thus contributing to a more muted environment.
Architextiles are currently available in several patterns and customizable colours and compositions. There are four variations of Casalis Architextiles: Cello, Slumber, Ondo and Leevn. Cello are woven in a mixture of 30% merino wool, 29% virgin wool, 24% polyester, 16% cotton and 1% elastane. Architextiles Slumber are woven in a mixture of 31% merino wool, 22% PA, 15% cotton, 13% kid mohair and 1% elastane. Architextiles ONDO and LEEVN are woven in a mixture of 0.6% elasthane and 99.4% Trevira CS polyester.
