Product Specifications
Ceramitex® sintered ceramic panels consist of a sintered ceramic slab with fiberglass-reinforced mesh backing adhered to our proprietary Unity® attachment technology. Panels are available in various sizes and thicknesses, offering flexibility for different architectural requirements.
System applications
Ceramitex® offers two types of system applications: insulated and non-insulated rainscreen, catering to different building needs.
Panel installation
The installation process involves mounting J-trim to the sub-framing, ensuring panel alignment, and attaching panels to the framing system using aluminum clips and self-drilling hex screws.
Corners and edges
The recommended installation method starts at a corner or window jamb, with instructions provided for mitered corners, window and door jambs, and infill strips.

Reference projects
Canada Science and Technology Museum
The Canada Science and Technology Museum underwent renovations in 2015 to revitalize its appearance for Canada's sesquicentennial celebrations in 2017. NORR was tasked with envelope upgrades, new mechanical and electrical systems, seismic upgrades, new entrance facilities, and aesthetic enhancements. The collaboration between NORR and Elemex resulted in the implementation of the Ceramitex® Sintered Ceramic Facade System, known for its durability, resistance to temperature changes, and ability to double as a 250-foot-long projection screen. This facade met the requirements for a national museum and provided an impressive exterior representing the world-class experience contained within the museum.
Vaughan Civic Centre Resource Library
The La Gota Cultural Centre in Spain, the Research Institute of Hospital de Sant Pau, and the parking structure in Saint Roch all feature innovative architectural designs using Flexbrick ceramic material. This material offers sustainable and versatile solutions for creating aesthetically striking and environmentally friendly building facades. Flexbrick panels are noted for their large dimension formats, optimal execution performance, flexibility, and ease of maintenance, repair, and recycling. The material's industrial system and installation techniques provide architects with a new way of utilizing ceramic surfaces, allowing for flexibility in design, easy installation, and reduced environmental impact.
