Nowadays most of us live in cities and in general in small apartments. We spend most of our times infront of screens and are in touch with non living objects. Even having a garden at home is sometimes difficult. The popular use of flowepots require space and care to be sustained. In addition, hanging them from the wall is quite complicated and they look like added objects.

So looking at the existing elements of a normal home, we were attracted to the idea of the curtain. A piece of decoration that is used to give shade, intimacy and protects from the sun. Concept

Ecortina´s design is connecting the concept of the curtain with that of the vertical garden.

The product has many uses and can be applied to different spaces. It´s made of a translucent (similar texture to paper), durable, sustainable and synthetic material that is waterproof and moisture - resistant.

It has a 3D shape and pocket pattern inspired by paper origami techniques.

We worked with different sizes and materials before finding the best combination of it.

The sizes of the pockets suits the growth of different types of plants, so one can have a kitchen garden and an ornamental garden set up.

All pockets are sealed to keep the water. For plants that require more water, you can open holes in the pockets let water go through and have the plants below always watered.

It can be hanged in different places: on a window, on the wall or even on the fence of your balcony or terrace.

The panels below indicate size and material information on Ecortina. In addition a catalogue of different plants, that can be grown in Ecortina, is provided along with their watering frequency and seasonal planting requirements.
