Mutaforma together with Fabio Rotella & Flavia Aprilini:

the Case Masks and the Tilla in Wonderland collection for a playful project

Mutaforma, the Italian brand that operates in the field of augmented materials - starting with glass, through nanotechnology – and always searching for new solutions for the application of nanometric particles, has launched a new collection.

It’s a limited-editionof case masks designed by architects Fabio Rotella and Flavia Aprilini, consisting of six handmade objects inspired by traditional African tribal art.

The mask is a decorative object and a secret case in one. The structure is in nickel-plated metal while the internal case is covered in dove-grey velvet. Designed to be hanged to the wall but also available with free standing.

The front cover of each mask is finely decorated with colorful TILLA® picotessere with silver foil.

Besides the case masks, the duo of designers has created a collection of 15 décors, Tilla in Wonderland, that explores and showcases the unparalleled versatility of mutaforma’s hyper-tech material.

Thanks to mutaforma’s industrial mindset, which creates a technology-driven weft, and the eclectic approach of materials, the designers have braided a playful decoration project characterized by surprising shapes and colors, like the ones of Wonderland.

“I immediately thought that it would have been amazing, thanks to the small and detailed TILLA®, the glass element foundational of the modern and fancy mutaforma material, to set completely free the mosaic to build surreal meetings between TILLA and some items and furniture, created to build a world of shapes, colors, movements that look like the ones of Wonderland!” Fabio Rotella.
