To design its newest jewel in the crown, Delta Light joined forced with Tim Van Steenbergen, one of Belgium’s most praised fashion designers. What started as a revamp of the Husk model became a totally new creation. You can still recognize Husk but the design has evolved.
Van Steenbergen started working on the original lighting object. He covered it with fabric and cut it. One thing led to another. He was inspired to create an object that plays with light and shadow. The result is a unique and versatile object. Under a waterfall of white aluminium strips, the warm light conjures up a magical play of light and shadow. A delight of light.
The metronome is a completely new product range, associated with the Husk but unique on its own. The design is characterized by a waterfall of flexible strips, either with or without the signature upper piece of the Husk. Except for 3 static strips, each aluminium strip can be tilted, allowing the user to create its own version. As such, there will never be 2 exact same copies, each version will have its own story.
Van Steenbergen wanted to do more than create a lighting object. He wanted to go back to the product, the essence, the values, the content. He embarked on a quest for beauty and aesthetic that also characterizes his other creations. The result had to be pure and to-the-point. An ambiance of light, in the form of a modern object.
The Metronome is so versatile that it works in residential and non-residential interiors such as hotels, restaurants and retail.
The Metronome XXL is a truly unique creation, an immense eye-catcher able to upgrade any large space. With a height of 2.10m, the Metronome XXL can be seen as the pièce de resistance of this collection.
Van Steenbergen: “Thanks to my shows and my theatre work I understand the importance of lighting. Light can make or break something. Delta Light shares my vision. Their work is about timeless design and top-quality craftsmanship. That’s why we could easily work together and create a lighting object with an added value.”
