In the late 1800's to early 1900's, English Safari hunters used this style of chair when setting up camp on the African Savannah. The Army also found this chair useful because of the easy assembly and disassembly without tools. When disassembled, it would fit easily into a back-pack.
Now the chair has made it into our living-rooms, inhabiting more peaceful surroundings.
In the handmade Madshome version of the Safari chair, the frame is made from solid Mahogany / Walnut / Oak and a high quality vinyl fabric is used for the seating which will look good inside and/or outside. Mahogany / Walnut is a very strong hardwood and the fabric will not deteriorate or get moldy. Wood type and color can be customized. Price starts at $475.
