High performance for an innovative model that combines the versatility of up&down technology with the elegance of built-in models
Milan, Eurocucina-FTK, Salone del Mobile 2014. A retractable, built-in hood offering maximum extraction: three qualities combined in a single innovative hood. The company that invented the hood back in 1955 will be presenting Skylift, the only hood built into the ceiling that lowers towards the cooking surface, at the Salone del Mobile 2014.The new model avails of exceptional mobility: 4 thin steel cables lower the hood towards the hob whenever required, and retract it when no longer in use, through Faber's "up&down" technology. Produced in white glass with an extremely clean and elegant design, for an ultralight and dynamic look, the best in technology and aesthetics at the service of extraction.
This is a truly unique model. Installed neither vertically nor on the wall, it is built entirely into the ceiling. At the press of a button: when ready to use, it lowers onto the hob, stopping at the desired height by remote control, offering high performance in terms of extraction and lighting. Powerful Leds bars built into the lower section offer an energy consumption of just 7 watts. The appliance not only reflects the latest design trends, but is also extremely practical and functional. When the hood is not in use, it retracts fully into the ceiling, freeing up the cooking area of any obstruction.
The aesthetic result is absolutely minimal, in line with the new trends in 2014. Absolutely perfect in living spaces where the kitchen and living room merge into one, Skylift is an elegant addition to any kitchen requiring style and clean lines. At a time when free standing appliances are making space for built-in models, hidden under wall cabinets or integrated into the walls to create maximum uniformity of style, Skylift constitutes a genuine evolution of the hood, and is already attracting great market acclaim.
The way ahead, therefore, is for appliances to be no longer merely built-into wall cabinets, but conceived as a new way of using and designing - and why not, of experiencing - the kitchen. The main objective is to offer new technological products that improve air quality and enable professionals to design new housing solutions, thinking outside the box and in line with the latest demands.
The Faber Research & Development centre has long been studying and investing in the retractable hood, with a view to radically innovating this home appliance and enhance its efficiency and ease of use, while also delivering significant energy savings. The SkyLift hood is not the first in the collection: in 2012, Faber presented Fabula, the downdraft hood that hides away behind the hob, while a few years before thatHeaven Glass, a built-in model that may be considered a forerunner of SkyLift.
