Agglotech’s terrazzo cladding is an elegant and technologically innovative solution for surfacing interiors and exteriors of various dimensions. It has gained popularity among architects and designers due to its unique qualities. Terrazzo, a composite material made of marble chips and cement, has evolved significantly over the years. It is now widely used for cladding both interior and exterior walls.

Terrazzo cladding offers a perfect blend of design and color, achieved through specific techniques unique to this material. The array of colors and finishes available in Agglotech's terrazzo slabs make them suitable for cladding ventilated facades using the Fisher system, a patented installation method.

For ventilated facades, Agglotech's cladding provides a seamless fusion of aesthetics and functionality. This type of exterior cladding creates an insulating layer that shields the building from water damage and improves thermal efficiency. In summer, it deflects the sun's heat, keeping the interior cool, while in winter, it helps retain warmth. This not only creates a more comfortable indoor environment but also promotes environmental friendliness by reducing dampness.

Marble-agglomerate slabs are well-suited for use in ventilated facades due to several reasons: they offer consistent color over large surfaces, technical consistency at anchor points, fast delivery, competitive prices, and excellent UV resistance. These qualities have made this product a favorite among architects, and Agglotech has been involved in notable projects such as Doha’s Sendian Tower and the Am Knie building in Munich.

Ventilated facades, utilizing materials like Agglotech's terrazzo cladding, effectively separate a building’s interior from outdoor elements, providing a quiet and comfortable indoor environment. Simultaneously, they offer a customizable, high-impact solution for the building’s exterior, catering to specific preferences and stylistic choices.

Reference projects

“A” restaurant

Restaurant A, located in Tel Aviv, was designed to fuse Japanese and Western cultures into a sophisticated menu and space. The space is characterized by unique architectural elements, including a curving wall that guides guests to the main dining area and a straight wall that defines and sculpts the hall. The use of terrazzo cladding is prominent in the space, with the base of the main partition adorned in a graphic composition of half-arches in a turquoise copper patina, reflecting classic domed edifices and sculptures adorning Western cities. Additionally, the terrazzo grey floor introduces a sprinkle of green and recalls European materiality while also referencing local Israeli heritage.

DE Apartment

Architect Meirav Galan transformed a 160-square-meter Tel Aviv apartment, originally two separate units, into a harmonious family home. Located in a historic 1940s building by renowned architect Dov Karmi, the apartment retained its nostalgic charm while gaining modern functionality. New terrazzo tiles were chosen for the kitchen, the bathrooms, and the balconies as a reference to the original terrazzo that was typical to Tel-Aviv in the 1940s, and a soft parquet was chosen to unite the rest of the living spaces. This cladding choice not only pays homage to the historical context of the building but also adds a unique touch of character to the modern renovation.

FLUX

The Flux salon in Taipei is an example of architectural and spatial storytelling. Designed by Kuomin Lee in collaboration with Kerastase, the space is a bold fusion of industrial aesthetics and sacred geometry. A dramatic 3D diamond-patterned ceiling dominates the space, creating an undulating landscape that contrasts sharply with the calm, stone-finished walls. The ceiling's intricate pattern, inspired by the intersecting lines of the letters "X" and "K" from the brand names, divides the space into geometric voids, evoking the grandeur of a Gothic church. The salon's layout is carefully orchestrated, with a clear division between the Kerastase product area and the hairdressing stations. The use of corrugated metal, stainless steel, and terrazzo cladding creates a luxurious yet industrial feel, while bespoke furniture pieces add sculptural interest. . The overall effect is a visually arresting and functionally efficient space, making it a standout representation of modern design and elegance.
