The Shifang gymnasium roof was designed by hand in 1984, without considering seismic design, and completed construction in 1987. The layout of the stadium is regular both in the plane and vertical, and the steel grid roof is supported by four columns of reinforced concrete at the bottom, and the roof is reinforced concrete trough plate. In 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, although shifting city suffered an earthquake intensity of 7.5 degrees, but only one frame beam end was damage; Several collisions occurred between the upper grid members and the lower main structure, and the filled wall was seriously damaged. The main structure is basically intact without obvious damage.
