Wagner Living, the German seating manufacturer presents the first office chair made of carbon, during Clerkenwell Design Week 2017. With a strong following in their native Germany, the family owned manufacturer has been selected to fit out the “Störtebeker” Restaurant at the new Elbphilarmonie in Hamburg.
Working together with specialists from the carbon industry, Wagner has developed the first carbon office chair in the world, using state of the art technologies. The W5 comprises dynamic design with an intricate shape and 3D knit as well as invisible movement technology.
The extra thin backrest brace made of extremely hard material, gives the W5 its delicate and light appearance. The back cover is attached at only six points and is stretched over the carbon frame. This means the back accommodates the user perfectly without restricting freedom of movement.
Its movement technology Dondola®, unique to Wagner is invisibly integrated above the chair’s mechanism. The three-dimensionally moveable seat including armrest has been scientifically proven to support back health.
