I wanted to keep the physical structure of the lamp as simple as possible. Fascinated by the purity of geometrical basic forms, I used just a graphical, straight line and small circle shade to keep the focus in the harmony between the light and the copper base. The structure does not try to shout out from the space around it but rather on subtle way give the light where its needed.
The white ray of LED will give the copper the deserved attention when it hits the polished surface. I wanted to take advantage of the weight of the solid copper bar, to have the foot as thin yet stable as possible to minimize the area needed from the table top. This way make the lamp a sculptural element that suits well as a target light on a desk or on a narrow shelve.
