This landscape design concept complements the project of a boarding house for children undergoing treatment for cancer and their parents living with them throughout the entire rehabilitation process. Our project aims to create the most comfortable, friendly and inclusive environment for different age groups of children. It provides the necessary freedom of movement and recreation for children with limited mobility, as well as those who are physically weakened from painful treatment.
The project principles, such as the use of natural materials and deep interaction with the environment were created throughout designing process. The image of a “grandmother’s summer house” and a kind of «garden of Eden” was converted into relaxing and playable environment for children and their parents.
They will also be able to experience the world around them through tactile and visual interaction with abundant vegetation and natural landscape features such as mini forests, gardens and streams. To complement the “dacha” image, resting points were developed in the form of small pavillions, visually displaying simple architectural forms and repeating the pitched roofs of the buildings on the site.
