A FinTech Workplace of Balance and Wellbeing – Warsaw HQ by AKA Studio

This is the second collaboration between AKA Studio and a leading FinTech company — the design of its Warsaw headquarters and main office in Poland. The interior concept is based on two distinct color directions, reflecting the functional division of space. A defining feature of the project is a series of original murals featuring industry “inside jokes” from the world of IT. A strong emphasis was placed on acoustic comfort and other elements enhancing both the physical and emotional wellbeing of the predominantly young team.

Designed with people in mind
The headquarters, located in the LIXA office complex in Warsaw’s Wola business district, was developed a few months after the completion of the Poznań office — which allowed the design team to gain a deep understanding of the client’s working style and team dynamics.
“We had the unique opportunity to get to know the team, composed mostly of people in their twenties. Once again, we conducted internal surveys and workshops, which helped us create a user-centered design — focused on people, their comfort and their emotions,” says Karolina Kowalik, co-founder of AKA Studio.

A balance of two spatial languages
The design concept strikes a balance between muted, hospitality-inspired zones and more vibrant, colorful areas designed for employee interaction. The reception area is dominated by warm-toned wood, with a ribbed ceiling that curves gently down the wall — a detail repeated in the reception desk and corridor wall panels.
Work and support zones are energized with shades of orange, blue, and yellow, balanced by soft greys and warm browns.

Unique accents include murals by the artistic duo “Takie Pany” (Tomek Domański and Mikołaj Olizar-Zakrzewski), known for their album covers and visuals for artists like Taco Hemingway and Fisz. Their signature electronic-mechanical style appears in corridors and kitchen-dining areas, functioning as a visual language of “inside jokes” understood only by the team.

A space for balance and wellbeing
The office, spanning over 2,300 m², features extensive shared areas. Two kitchen-dining spaces — each with a distinct, cozy atmosphere — are the social hubs of the two office floors. These spaces also feature custom murals by "Takie Pany", enhancing the informal, home-like atmosphere.

Employee wellbeing is further supported by a dedicated chill room with soft seating, a green wall, and integrated circular lounges. A playroom invites staff to relax and recharge — with gym ladders, mats, darts, and a collection of board games.

Designing for comfort and health
Acoustic comfort was a key priority. The design includes numerous sound-absorbing panels by brands such as Accustico and Impact Acoustic, as well as custom-designed solutions by AKA Studio.
Lighting was equally considered — custom ring-shaped fixtures and a smart system that automatically adjusts brightness and color temperature throughout the day.

Meeting rooms are equipped with advanced video conferencing infrastructure for inter-branch and client communication. A variety of collaboration spaces and quiet zones support different work styles, team sizes, and degrees of focus.

“This is a workplace of the future — a diverse space tailored to hybrid work, privacy, and technology. We've created a spectrum of environments that employees can use based on their individual needs. The balance of the whole makes it a space you simply want to be in,” says Agata Łapuchowska, co-founder of AKA Studio.
