Refined Elegance

AP+I Design as Architects

The design for this modern office combines functionality with refined elegance. Transforming a 4,950 sqft office space on Silicon Valley’s coveted Sand Hill Rd, this project involves a comprehensive turn-key interior tenant build-out and an exterior patio renovation, seamlessly blending practicality and aesthetics to elevate the workspace.

AP+I Design worked closely with Alameda Realty to create an attractive, minimalist environment. Our goal was to draw high-end tenants while simultaneously driving new behaviors around shared and dedicated space. Despite existing limitations like a small floorplate and dark ambiance, we revitalized the space, reclaiming unused areas for new workspaces and curating new employee destinations. The layout supports workflow, enhances collaboration, and intellectual engagement despite challenges with existing infrastructure and the need for numerous offices.

The central hub was a key focal feature of the design. By combining multiple uses, a hosting parlor, a flex employee work lounge, and a breakroom with that hospitality feel, the space now embodies an egalitarian feel in which everyone is welcome. This design is developed with intentional spatial alignments, high attention to detail, and a sophisticated node to an industrial loft aesthetic.

The finishes, minimal and bold; black accents, a stone slab with large veining, modern lighting, exposed iconic circular steel columns, and seamless transitions contributed to a clean, refined design. Repetitive tambour detailing from the reception desk to the conference table and steel portal to the bespoke interior storefront led to a stunning outcome.
