After purchasing their apartment, located on Av. Beira-Mar – one of the most famous and busiest avenues in the city of Florianópolis, Brazil – the owners came to our firm for a complete renovation of the property. The original project, dating back to the 1980s, no longer lived up to its location and did not value the beauty of the view it homes.

The new project proposed the demolition of several of the apartment’s walls, configuring a completely new layout, prioritizing large and orthogonal spaces, differing from the old compartmentalization with diagonal walls.

One of the key points of the project was the integration of the living room and the conformation of a gourmet area to support the dining room. The various fixed furniture in the social areas, built on-site, were removed, expanding the space and making room for modern design pieces.

Behind the gourmet area is the kitchen, which can be integrated or separated from the social area thanks to the panel doors that divide the environments and go practically unnoticed when closed.

The home theater is next to the living room, separated by a panel door. It is the entrance to the intimate area, consisting of three suites and a studio. The office is located at the entrance and can be accessed directly from the entrance hall.

In terms of tones and materials, the rooms follow the personality of the owners through colors and a mix of prints. In the social area, neutral tones and American oak were used in the furniture and panels that cover the walls. The blue tones in the decoration and details refer to the sea, which can be seen through the large open spaces. On the walls hang works by artists Fernando Lindote, Juliano Aguiar, and Rubens Oestroem.
