The ground floor apartment already presented some modifications, in particular the kitchen that had been completely renewed. However, the client wished to extend the living room, creating a dining area with some link to the kitchen, as well as the transformation of the sanitary facilities by way of a more modern design.
The major premises of this project involved the elimination of the existing corridor that linked the hall to the two existing secondary bedrooms, thus enabling the extension of the living room, by tearing down the wall that formed the corridor, and the link to the kitchen through the opening of a space. The sanitary facilities serving the two bedrooms, were designed in more youthful and picturesque features, as they will be used by the children.
In the master bedroom, the suite, the sanitary installations were totally modified, resorting to the carpentry work mainly, that framing the existing window created a small support bench, into which the lavatory was fixed, and a large bench with storage space was installed.
The carpentry works are very striking in this project, and their presence immediately seen when you enter the apartment. The hall / corridor that in the past only served for circulation, has gained function, plasticity and has awarded a new aesthetic to the space and its relation with the remaining spaces that go out from here. With one single gesture, a shoe closet and a coat rack were created in a storage area. On the other hand, the item that divides the hall from the living room, has repercussions of the latter, as its negative creates a bookshelf and lightning for the living area.
The items designed in wood are the unifying pieces that organize the space of this apartment, awarding a unique quality to the spaces, while being aesthetically striking.
