Property is located in the neighborhood of Vila Andrade, in São Paulo
The studio wall architecture and design office, led by architect Bárbara Matos, signs a contemporary industrial apartment of 110m² - the property is located in the Vila Andrade district, in São Paulo. “Customers wanted to renovate, but without much impact, the floor and ceiling were maintained. We changed the joinery, removed the balcony door and replaced some furniture” comments the architect Bárbara Matos.
The main intervention was removing the balcony door and changing the positioning of the four-seater dining table, which allowed for better use of the space and the inclusion of a more spacious table to receive guests, and a corner for the wine cellar. The highlight of the room is Mike Thomas's photo frame, a photo of the Atacama Desert.
In the kitchen, the office preserved the existing coatings and the structure of the existing joinery, to modernize the doors of the joinery and the São Gabriel granite countertop, however, they maintained the design of the previous countertop so that we did not change the place of hydraulic points. “In the living room, we changed the layout to increase the dining table and bring it closer to the balcony due to the barbecue”, comments the professional.
Customers are lovers of good wine, so the architect created an environment for the cellar and a lounge with armchairs and tables to receive friends. They removed the door that divided the balcony, but customers will choose not to level it so as not to have an aggressive work on the barbecue.
In the washroom, there was a more significant work, where Portobello zigzag coating was placed on the walls and the sink was replaced, including the joinery shelves. New electrical outlets were also provided for the sconces. “In the suite, we changed all the decoration for a clean and clear style, we changed the headboard and proposed a niche above it to work as a support for the bed, since one side does not have a bedside table due to access from the closet” explains Bárbara. “
The environment that used to be a warehouse has become an office for home office and manual work” concludes the architect.
