The renovation project transformed an old flat into a bright, modern living space, creating a contemporary environment where every element is designed to guarantee comfort, style and character to the property.
The objective of optimizing the distribution of space was pursued starting from the identification of the specific needs of the owners, who expressed their passions and their idea of space during the design phase; their passion for music listened to through vinyl records, their passion for cooking and their desire to have a space dedicated to the girls' play were elements that guided the design choices.
The entrance, a point of contact between the calm of the private space and the frenzy of the outside, has thus taken on a functional role. It is characterized by a storage wall designed to hold shoes, coats, a folding bicycle and a tidy shelf with mirror; a partition made of vertical slats screens the large living room, without interrupting its visual continuity.
To further expand the living room, a handcrafted glass wall separates and at the same time unites the kitchen with the living room, ensuring visual contact with the rest of the house and reconciling a passion for cooking with conviviality.
The bedrooms have been redesigned to maximize the use of space, through specially designed furnishings that combine functionality and aesthetics. The girls' rooms feature an interplay of colors that harmonizes with the furniture, while in the master bedroom the headboard of the bed, handcrafted with designer fabrics, is a homage to the owner's Sardinian origins.
Two bathrooms, one with a laundry room, the other inside the master bedroom, complete the distribution of the rooms.
Natural oak parquet flooring has been laid throughout much of the flat, echoed in the finishes of the furniture, contrasting with the white walls and the shades of grey used for some of the furnishings. All this lends a sense of warmth and coziness to the rooms.
Energy efficiency and living comfort have been improved with the installation of a new heating and cooling system and the replacement of windows with new high-performance PVC models that guarantee good thermal and acoustic insulation.
Finally, the lighting has been taken care of down to the smallest detail, with designer pendant lamps, tracks and light points positioned to enhance the spaces and create suggestive atmospheres.
