The proposal for the Cerro Juli Auditorium in Arequipa is a rich, simple and powerful shadow. The result of combining a sensitive understanding of the conditions of the place and the need for project into a urgency scenario stretching the budget. More than a building the proposal is a spatial system that allows different organizations adapting itself to the current and future needs of PERUMIN. The rising of this event and its remarkable evolution as well as the use of the space for another multiple uses during the rest of the year invite to think in a versatileeasy processing infrastructure.
The project takes as main material design the distant views, the mild climate and the existing topography. Two parallel horizontal bodies of different materiality incorporate and enhance the landscape.
Above the versatile plane of the floor it is placed a sophisticated metal roof that filters and regulates the strong brightness of Arequipa at the same time allowing to equip the space with multiple technologies for events. Ultimately, the project aims to create a memorable space creating a hybrid between landscape, architecture and infrastructure. Using intelligences of the industrialization and standardization to create a flexible space open to the landscape.
