Casa 77 - One Family Dwelling in La Roca del Vallés

Casa 77 - One Family Dwelling in La Roca del Vallés

Rob Dubois as Architects

A simple geometry and a concept which draws references from a rocky world -like a monolithic composition run aground long ago on the site- was developed for an ample home with an extensive brief: over 700 square meters built area spread over basement, first and second floors. the house faces north and is set upon a hill to take advantage of the unsurpassable views of the Montseny mountain range.

All the spaces designed were arranged along a longitudinal axis which perforates and links the three volumes that form the house. the intention was to take advantage of the long internal perspective which a home of this size allows, whilst at the same time taking care to avoid excessive monumentality.

The strict local building code has been followed meticulously, but we adapted it to a contemporary language which seeks the integration of the architecture with its surroundings, at the same time proudly expressing itself as a product of the 21st. century.
