Rehabilitation of this old winery, built in the 1900s in the historic center of Portimão, Portugal, into loft living.
The idea was to keep the existing building to the maximum and recover original elements such as doors, windows and shutters. For this, the structure and a large part of the distribution are preserved. The biggest demolition work is on the roof, which is modified to create a terrace.
On the ground floor, two large windows give way to an open space where a living room with a fireplace, a dining room and a large industrial-style kitchen are located. The original structure stands out in this space with two red columns in the center and the half-timbered ceiling.
On the first floor is the most private part of the house, with an office, living room, TV room, library, a small support kitchen and the master bedroom.
Two terraces connect the house with the outside, one on the first floor, where the pool is located and the other on the deck, with an outdoor living and dining area.
