Local 10 Arquitectura as Architects

At 600 meters above Monterrey city, in the middle of a magnificent forest of oaks and adjacent to the Chipinque Ecological Park, this house rises taking advantage of the spectacular views that nature provides.

Located in San Pedro Garza Garcia with 550 square mt2 builted, and with an architectural program that would meet the needs of a family with two young daughters, with spaces where the family could meet and share both outside and inside; the weather in the area, very different from the metropolitan area of Monterrey, has cool summers but very cold and wet winters, the family sought to have even in these cold months integration with the surrounding forest and in the warmer months, outdoor areas to enjoy family and friends.

The project was also designed to look for the sun protection provided by trees as a natural filter and simultaneously take advantage of sunlight to illuminate the interior of the house. Their north and south facades has windows that allow to feel and enjoy the forest within the spaces, that bring also to the house a panoramic view of the city.

During construction we look forward to protect as much as possible the natural cut the land and vegetation also the municipal regulation required to have a load factor of only 12 percent of the land area; Special care was also taken to respect the presence and growth of trees, integrating them into the celings and balconies of the main facade.

A wide and impressive wooden door with an asymmetric design give the welcome to the generous lobby that distributes to the social and private areas of the house. Beckon stone walls that give structure and frame the sides, are an element that balances the contemporary design with the forest.

The interiors feature finishes and neutral colors accented with details of warm colors that we see in rugs and cushions. This is how Local 10 managed to make a haven of comfort and that it enjoys a spectacular view of the city of Monterrey.
