Casa T02, situated at the margins of the urban area of the vibrant city of Sharjah in UAE, is a high-end residential project developed for an Emirati family.
The project is located within a large lot surrounded by three highways. One of the main objectives of the project was the necessity to create a protected place away from the nearby urban chaos. The building closes inward, shielding the perimeters on the street and creating internal courtyards around which the interior spaces are developed, maintaining the layout of typical Arab residences developed around a sahn, an inner courtyard that provides privacy and cooling in the hottest hours.
The building is developed on two levels, its entire interior distribution revolves around the element of water, reproposed in the in various spatial configurations. It is precisely water that penetrates the building, bringing the outside into the inside and providing the house with prestigious interior spaces enriched by the choice of contemporary high-end Italian furniture.
The ground floor hosts all the family and leisure activities of the house: a spa and massage area, two games rooms, the kitchen and the formal dining areas. Large double-height glazed windows let in light and give views of the lush garden vegetation.
The second floor houses all five bedrooms each with a spacious terrace overlooking the garden. Interior spaces feature fine finishes and earthy colors that help integration with the outdoors. Wood, marble and brushed concrete contrast with the broad green foliage of the palm trees and the flowering vegetation of the garden.
The exterior walls are designed with the purpose of obstructing views into the interior from outside in order to preserve the privacy of the family while awakening a wonderful sense of curiosity in the discovery of the interior.
