Casafuera

DHZ arquitectura as Architects

Casafuera is a single-family housing project located in Lumbisí, Quito. The nature-loving owner required a design that would allow him to enjoy the pre-existing gardens and trees while maintaining privacy. This is how Casafuera arises, a house with the ability to inhabit it inside, feeling the outside and vice versa.

The concept seeks to have a house that blends in with the trees and generates the feeling that the internal spaces have the flexibility to open completely to the outside, supported by transitory spaces, which in this case are the decks that float above the ground.

In this way, the architectural program starts from the pre-existence of the trees, these regulated the implantation of the house. In the front part of the land, where the number of trees is less, a large garden with only natural grass was projected, the leading role is taken by a large avocado tree, generating vertical circulation next to it.
