Hiking in summer, skiing in winter. The Alps are a place of longing for many, especially because of their high recreational value, and attract numerous visitors every year. Nestled in this idyllic setting lies the new Center Parcs resort in Leutkirch im Allgäu. The 184-hectare holiday paradise opened in October 2018 and since then has had great drawing power. At the opening of the park, 450,000 bookings were already received and the park managers expect approximately one million overnight stays per year. The holiday homes and restaurants in the facility were furnished with high-quality ceramics from Villeroy & Boch - both in the sanitary area and with tableware products.
For over 50 years, Center Parcs has managed holiday resorts at 24 locations in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and France. The chain specialises primarily in family holidays and offers a wide range of activities for the young and old. The highlights of Park Allgäu include a tropical swimming paradise with five slides, a 165-metre-long white water course, an indoor playground, a children's farm and a spa & country club. The concept of the park allows guests to relax in nature year-round, regardless of the weather, and to take advantage of the wide range of leisure activities available indoors and outdoors.
Villeroy & Boch also contributed to the comfort and feel-good atmosphere of the modern park and holiday homes: The 1000 luxurious holiday homes have been equipped with high-quality sanitary ware and stylish ceramics from the Tableware section. Particular care was taken to ensure that the products matched the respective profiles of the buildings. The Villeroy & Boch product range covers various price and design categories, so that the right solution was found for all design requirements. Products from the O.novo and Memento collections were installed in the bathrooms of the Comfort, Premium and VIP holiday homes, while sanitary ceramics from the Architectura system collection and the stylish Memento 2.0 surface-mounted washbasins are also in use in the 250 Exclusive lodges. Products from the accessible O.novo Vita series have also been installed in some cottages. Tableware products from the Purismo, La Divina, Victor and Artesano collections have been used. The restaurants and the Market Café use items from the Affinity, Dune, Artesano and Urban Nature series.
The holiday resort in Allgäu is not the first successful cooperation between Villeroy & Boch and Center Parcs. The partnership has already proven its worth in amusement parks in the Netherlands and Belgium and in the construction of Center Parcs on Bostalsee in 2013. In the next step, the companies wanted to maintain their collaboration with a long-term cooperation agreement. On 12 March 2019, Villeroy & Boch and Center Parcs signed the contract at ISH in Frankfurt am Main.
