The Central Park offices tower - ninety-meter high building - will be placed next to the municipality office. Because of a constriction of height of 45 meters, the volume is divided into two volumes. This horizontal accent has two layers and connects to the municipality office. In contrast to the office façade, the facade of the constellation is completely transparent and sculpturally shaped at the top and bottom. The interior includes a courtyard and meeting place. Construction of Central Park started in April 2019.
The facade is the business card of Central Park. The design is elegant and is characterized by a subtly varied structure with a unique bronze tone. By giving the glass on the 11th and 12th floors more transparency, the presence of the indoor park is visually emphasized. As a user of the office spaces and the park, you continuously experience a pleasant climate, a maximum amount of daylight and a breathtaking view.
On all fronts Central Park is geared for sustainable, efficient and healthy use. Solar panels and heat and cold storage in the ground are used for the energy supply. The building is not only able to fulfill its own energy needs, but can also contribute energy to the adjacent residential buildings. For reasons of sustainability, less glass is introduced in places with a lot of sunlight and for places with less sun exposure, vice versa. In special places, where there is a view of striking buildings in the city, this standard is deviated. For Central Park, efforts are being made to obtain a BREEAM Excellent certificate.
Interwoven with the location
Together with Central Park, GROUP A designed the Public City Plateau – ‘The Forum’, an elevated and green square with a parking garage underneath. Due to its location on this plateau, which is on the same level as the public transport terminal, the integration of Central Park into the city is reinforced. The natural stone of the City Plateau is extended into the lobby. At the reception, the natural stone turns into a light terrazzo floor that leads the visitor towards the elevator and connects inside and outside. The project is expected to be completed in the summer of 2021.
