Chateau de Saulon

Rinck as Designers

Located in Saulon-la-Rue, France, Chateau de Saulon is beautiful and authentic 17th century castle, completely renovated in the 19th century, perfect for a getaway outside of Paris in a countryside setting with a Michelin Star Chef the restaurant.

In 2017, Rinck is consulted with the primary objective of sublimating this exceptional place and allow it to find a delightful spirit, with a Scandinavian touch. The know-how and expertise of Rinck, interior decorator, is implemented: the castle closed its doors in March 2018 for only five weeks, a feat made possible thanks to the wealth of trades represented within the business.

The castle is composed of a central building that is surrounded by a 66-acre park, two large buildings: the "stables", and two pavilions: a chapel and a dovecote.  Along the road is a gardener's house which is connected to the castle by an underground passage. The castle underwent an initial phase of transformation and renovation in the 19th century, carried out by Marquis de Clermont Montoison.

The establishment now offers:

- 42 rooms, divided between the main building and the outbuildings

- three large multifunctional conference rooms

- two lounges in the castle with a direct opening that provides natural light from the park

- A lounge and library which complete the main building

- An outdoor swimming pool

- A garden

- An orangerie

A true tribute to the terroir of Burgundy, underlined by the teams of Rinck, creator of the new design of the buildings and gardens: "It was necessary to find in this superb place a castle atmosphere transmitted from generation to generation, where over the centuries, each would have left the memory of his passage in the decoration of the pieces."

The vegetable garden was created by Rinck, four handed with the chef, and fully integrated into the garden.
