DOM ARCHITEKTÓW - Project - DOM KADR no.1. / VIEW HOUSE no.1, 2015 Poland.
The DOM KADR no.1 project was designed and has been built by architects Emilia & Walenty Durka owners of the manufacture DOM ARCHITEKTÓW. The House was planned for three people and two dogs. Is located in the leafy birch forest. The land plot is perfectly oriented for high efficiency standard of the house with the view of the south and the entrance to the house of the north. The interference in the plot of land is minimal, because the house was transported in ready modules and mounted on screw-metal foots above the ground. The modules construction and interior are built from solid wood. We used only ecological, healthy wood products. Health of residents, high quality and ecology is our priority. The plot consists of two blocks: The House and a garage, both buildings are linked together with wooden pavement. A dense forest surround the house on three sides. To not disturb the environment, low wire mesh is stretched all over the forest wall. After crossing the front border of the land there is double garage room with additional space for a motorbike. The fence is overspread to the left and rights side of the garage, what separates the external and internal zone. Considering the needs of the host a garage consists of covered porch/terrace with wooden floor. After crossing the gateway of the garage there comes the view of the View House. A few grid metal steps lead to the entrance of the house. The same solution is used on the other side of the building. Metal steps help to bridge the elevated terrace with the forest garden. A south elevation wood and metal shading panels protect against the Sun. They additionally insulate to not overheat the interior. The design of the house is characterised by a clean, open plan and warm wood materials, where view on the forest is from every part of the house. The living room and the kitchen with a dining area, design as open space, is the heart of this house. An ovate wooden table is in the centre place for a common meal, long conversations and board games. The fireplace is integrated with the kitchen island. The kitchen zone contains small storage for necessary tools for a culinary studio. From the open space is the exit onto the 50m2 wooden terrace. The south view from the complex room overlooks random trees in the private garden. The left side of the house was designed and reserved for intimate area for parents. The bedroom has walk-in wardrobe and an open bathroom with a glass exterior window above the bath. This solution opens up a view of a forest garden illuminated in the night. Next to the bath is a walk-in, open shower, two sinks, a toilet and a bidet. The living room and the bedroom separate room No. 3, which has two features: a home office and temporary room for a newborn baby. On the right side of the house are disposed two rooms, for children and guests, a toilet with a shower and a utility room/laundry. The laundry was designed in Scandinavian way. The Vinyl carpet cover the walls, ceiling and floor with open shower. It was designed especially for washing dogs. This space has individual door with exit to the garden. Detals of the house was individual designed. An electrical installation of the house is located outside, on the walls which gives to the interior a bit of modern industrial character. Ventilation system has unique diffuser detal as a round holes in wood celling. Tt is the same with exterior stairs or window shading panels, everything has own unique design. Color of natural, interior spruce wood combine the facade with the black fireplace, windows, lamps and interior add-ons. The finishing of black metal panels, wood fence and terraces make the building does not to compete with surrounding nature. The glass facade invites nature inside. Everything creates an impression of simple and warm character of modern wood architecture.
