El Valor Inclusion Center

JGMA as Architects

The state-of-the-art, 130,000 sq. ft. El Valor International Inclusion Center is designed as a LEED Platinum campus with classrooms and research facilities, it also includes space for various art programs such as horticulture, music, and the culinary arts. This unique educational facility will include program components for several Chicago based higher-education institutions including:

• National Louis University • Chicago State University • St. Augustine College • Daley College

The facility is open to the entire community but focuses on enriching and empowering the lives of those with disabilities. After-hours job training and counseling will be available as well as a 30,000 sq. ft. child and family center. The large 900-seat auditorium can serve various performances and lectures.

The design emphasizes the use of both interior and exterior environments while maintaining various levels of privacy. The various degrees of transparency between different programmatic spaces encourage interaction in the learning environment and the surrounding community.
