Morphology Building which will be used as the main building for Faculty of Medicine is within the campus of Namik Kemal University. It is in Namik Kemal University campus, Tekirdag, a northwestern city of Turkey.
The building, with 12.000 sqm of closed area, consists of three blocks which includes offices for faculty members, laboratories, classrooms, and lecture rooms. The block A with the main entrance consists lecture rooms, classrooms, a cafeteria and a library to be mainly used by students. The block B, which consists laboratories, seminar and meeting rooms, acts as a bridging unit since it’s used by both academic staff and students. Block C at the rear end is set apart for offices of academic staff.
The sunken courtyards at lower levels, which enable maximum natural light and ventilation for basement floors, also complete the formal expression of the building since their footprints grow out of the volumetric layout of the blocks.
