The School’s decision to move into an unoccupied 1974 bank building gives a breath of new life into a transitioning downtown London. Given a downtown location, a re-imagined iconic bank building will be a precedent for both future redevelopment on Dundas Street and the centerpiece of a proposed new Education and Arts District.
Flexible learning spaces are at the heart of the student learning experience. Instruction spaces are agile, smart, virtual, safe and accessible to test ideas, arranged to support non-linear instruction models that enable people to group and regroup in new ways.
The design juxtaposes natural materials such as wood in common areas with digital display elements essential to the building’s dynamic building material palette.
