InteriorPark. as Interior Architects

What has a bakery and a laboratory for art in common? The InteriorPark. design concept was based on this question. The radical new interpretation of the existing structure was realized by reusing all materials found on site. The rustic wooden installations of the former sales room from the 60s / 70s were removed and the space was restored to its shell. As one of the companies sustainablility criterias, InteriorPark. went for the concept under the motto: Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. Individual “refined” quotations, however, remind of the original use. For instance the seating elements of used shelves installed in the shop windows with their seats made of plaited bakery paper. The connected café was design as an experimental site for photography, installations and performances. The café area is in clear contrast to the room at the front. Here the customer is taking a time journey back to the 1960s. The wood paneling on the walls and the ceilings have been conserved and emphasized with champagne-gold joints. With its successful mixture of nostalgia and new staging, the gallery sets new standards in Stuttgart – a city where value is seldom assessed to what is original and one of a kind.
