The house, built 1909, is located in a leafy garden city neighborhood in Stockholm on a small street named Björkvägen (Birch Street) – and just outside the house there are two large birches, two pines and a maple tree. Instead of imitating a hundred year old interior design I wanted to contrast the house’s history with a relevant contemporary expression. The design is a subtle wink to the surrounding trees in neighborhood — pine plywood for the frame and the fronts has got their color from the autumn maple leaves. The fronts are attached with four screws only and since there are no handles you can easily change them by just cutting a board into the same measurements.
